Hi, my name is Lori. I adopted Gracie on June 18, 2013, 12 weeks ago. Her foster mom’s description of her was perfect. She is a perfect addition to our home and family. We love her sweet, loyal personality. She has proven to be a wonderful companion to her senior brother, Jag. She has been enjoying her walks, especially hikes on trails, and is happy to join us in any outdoor adventures. She has learned to chase and return her favorite toy, the tennis ball too! Her new obsession is most definitely squirrel watching and chasing… as long as she doesn’t learn to chase and return those we should be okay! Thanks to Love of Labs for saving our beautiful Gracie Girl. We cannot imagine our lives without her body waggin, happy tailin , in it.

Poe
This is an update on Poe (formerly Champ), the beautiful and loving chocolate lab boy I adopted from LOLIN in November 2011.
Poe has been an invaluable friend over the past two years. At turns serious and clownish, he was an adoring little brother to my older lab mix Hadley, who passed away this last February. After our loss, Poe grieved with me, took care of me, snuggled me, and made sure that I still got to laugh -- he may have been sad, but meal time and walks never lost their joy for him! As long as we're together, our house is still a home!

Remy
Remy's favorite activity is his morning 40 minute walk and we try to take that each day--rain, wind and snow don't seem to bother Remy. He also enjoys fetch, jumping over box lids for treats, and, of course, tug.
We are proud to have adopted Remy and working with LOLIN for the past year has made me realize what wonderful work the organization does.
Thank you again for assisting us in adopting Remy!

Cooper's Happy Tail
Our two daughters are definitely his best buddies. Cooper's favorite game is "Cooper Tag". The girls run around the yard calling him and he happily chases after them. They all have a blast.
When he's not playing with us he enjoys basking in the sun, trying to steal one of the girls' stuffed animals or chewing on one of his bones. And he still hasn't given up hope that our 9 pound cat will someday become his playmate! I mean, what's not to love?
We lost our last Lab, Millie, last fall. Her death left quite a void in our lives. Cooper has brought us so much happiness. It's hard not to smile when he rolls over to show his belly with what looks like a big goofy grin on his face!
Thanks, LOLIN, for allowing us to adopt Cooper! He is so deserving of his new life. We love him!

Bentley from Alabama
We were foster failures.
But we can't imagine life without Bentley. He immediately got obedience training & settled into a routine with us. He is full of energy & goes to the dog park or on a jog with us every day. He has never met a stranger, he sometimes thinks he is a lap dog, & he now weighs almost 80 lbs! He's such a smart boy, never misses a beat, & gets compliments on how good looking he is everywhere he goes. He likes to be the center of attention!
We know Bentley would have gone to a great home, but we are so happy to have him in our home. Thank you Love of Labs!

Definitely being loved!
Just wanted to let you know that Grover had two amazing days! He was busy helping me plant flowers yesterday and we have found he absolutely loves being out side every chance he has. We had so much fun watching him play with his new toys. I love the way he throws things up and catches them. The moose was his favorite and he already has half of him chewed up. He scarfed his food down yesterday and this morning but tonight seemed to actually take a breath between gobbles. We have found out how much he likes to have his tummy rubbed! Yesterday he was on the go all day and slept good in his kennel throughout the night and no accidents in the house. He has been adjusting to his leash during walks and I am sure he will have the hang of it in no time. He is very curious along the way with all the newness. Thanks again for fostering him, without you guys we wouldn't have the joy of having him. He is definitely being loved!

Happy Tail- Zoey
We where approved to adopt, and set up a appointment to travel to Indiana to see the puppies. My husband and I picked out a yellow female, her name was Daisy Mae. A sign she was meant to be ours, I had had a Basset Hound named Daisy Mae for 16 years! We renamed her Zoey, and had to wait a few more weeks to get her after she was spayed.
Zoey will be a 1 year old on May 11th. She is a 66 pound lovebug, who thinks she is a lap dog like her 3 fur siblings, LuLu, Auggie, and Oscar. She has been to obeidence school, and passed. She loves playing ball with Oscar, they can play for hours, before getting tuckered out! She also loves playing with our son Christopher, going on walks, and car rides. She still loves to chew holes in socks, blankets, and dog beds, and if there is a newspaper laying around she will shred it to pieces in a matter of seconds!
Since adopting Zoey, my husband and I have started to help with transporting for different Rescues. So far we have helped four Labs on their journey to their new homes. We hope to help Lolin when a transport is needed through Central Illinois. Thank you to all the Lolin volunteers for all your hard work, and dedication! We love Zoey!
God Bless,
Jennifer, Charles, Christopher, LuLu, Auggie, Oscar, and Zoey

Lucy
She offers headbutts when she doesn't feel she's getting enough attention. She also has a unique ability to make sounds similar to Chubaca from Star Wars. It's rather amusing. Lucy is the first Lab I've had who is truly a lap dog. Nothing like 60 lbs of love on top of you.
We've already been through a lot of fun together and I know Lucy is happy in her forever home!! She frustrates me regularly but I wouldn't trade her for the world. Lucy is the love of my life and we will be together for as long as she will have me. Some have dogs where you're in charge and they are part of your life. With Lucy she's in charge and I'm part of her life. But with Lucy I wouldn't have it any other way. Well occasionally when I want to sleep in. I love you my Lucy and thank Sherry, caring for my little lady until she could come home. It would have been nice if you had warned me how crazy she is...ha ha

GEORGIE ROCKS!
Georgie continues to do a most awesome job in training his people. Georgie chose us to be his family in May 2010 and we are now complete. The after and the before photographs below tells it all. Please fosters know that you are fairy godparents to those of us who benefit from your love and care! Thank you Foster Godmother Linda Acup who saved Georgie! Georgie still has not gotten that the memo that he is missing his right back leg - yup a tripod who is an experienced athlete and hurdles fences. Georgie is indeed senior but he prefers experienced! Gotta love LOLIN! Melissa, Sean and Georgie

Mozart: Then and Now!

Then: An Adorable Puppy
The Doc says he will weigh almost as much as Sparky, but will be a little height challenged. He is still not very tall, but his back is so long he can get on top of the counters if he feels it is necessary.

Happy Birthday
Our older lab Elvis will let her do just about anything. Often he will be playing with a toy, minding his own business, when she will drop by him and start licking the toy and just generally acting silly until he finally gives up the toy to her.
Josie is doing very well in her obedience class. We had taken her to obedience training when we first got her but due to a variety of circumstances, the class didn't work out. We figured now that she is obviously comfortable with us and knows she's found her forever home, it would be a good time to fine-tune some of her manners. She has 'sit-stay" down pat and is well on the way to mastering "stand-stay" unfortunately her "down-stay" is still a work in progress. It could be that more often than not she is in "play mode" and going into the down position just doesn't seem like a lot of fun to her. :-)

Remmy's A Beautiful Fit

I cannot tell you how "right" Emmy (now called Remmy) is! She is a sweet, smart, obedient girl! We love her and cannot believe how beautifully she fits in with our family.
Last week we took her with us to a pet freindly cabin at Whitewater Memorial State Park. (She was the best behaved dog there.) She loves the water, but is not a very smooth swimmer. Next spring I will probably get her a life jacket because she keeps trying to go in over her head, then wants back in where she can stand. ;)
Thank you and every one at LOLIN for the work you do!
Belinda
