Gracie Girl

Hi, my name is Lori.  I adopted Gracie on June 18, 2013, 12 weeks ago.  Her foster mom’s description of her was perfect.  She is a perfect addition to our home and family.  We love her sweet, loyal personality.  She has proven to be a wonderful companion to her senior brother, Jag.  She has been enjoying her walks, especially hikes on trails, and is happy to join us in any outdoor adventures.   She  has learned to chase and return her favorite toy, the tennis ball too!  Her new obsession is most definitely squirrel watching and chasing…  as long as she doesn’t learn to chase and return those we should be okay!  Thanks to Love of Labs for saving our beautiful Gracie Girl.  We cannot imagine our lives without her body waggin, happy tailin , in it.

Dixie Pup

4 short months after the loss of our beloved yellow lab mix Elvis, we adopted 7# yellow bundle of energy Dixie. While she has turned out to be a true "daddy's girl", she brings joy to everyone in the family including our 3 year old LOLIN alumni Josie, our two 17 year old cats and our 10 year old mutt Buster. Dixie graduates next week from obedience school and it is amazing to look back on her development these last few months. She has definitely livened up our household. Thanks to all the volunteers who made Dixie's adoption possible.

Poe

This is an update on Poe (formerly Champ), the beautiful and loving chocolate lab boy I adopted from LOLIN in November 2011.

Poe has been an invaluable friend over the past two years.  At turns serious and clownish, he was an adoring little brother to my older lab mix Hadley, who passed away this last February.  After our loss, Poe grieved with me, took care of me, snuggled me, and made sure that I still got to laugh -- he may have been sad, but meal time and walks never lost their joy for him!  As long as we're together, our house is still a home!

Remy

It has now been over 7 months since Remy came to live with us. We could not have adopted a better dog for our family! Remy brings the right mix of energy and love to our home. He is our first dog so we are all learning together and it has been very exciting. Remy came to us already trained in many behaviors and we have all tried to continue the training and adapt it to our home. He has even learned to ignore our 8 year old cats, Jake and Lilly, some of the time. They are not quite as accepting of Remy as the rest of the family but they become more used to Remy everyday.
Remy's favorite activity is his morning 40 minute walk and we try to take that each day--rain, wind and snow don't seem to bother Remy. He also enjoys fetch, jumping over box lids for treats, and, of course, tug.
We are proud to have adopted Remy and working with LOLIN for the past year has made me realize what wonderful work the organization does.
Thank you again for assisting us in adopting Remy!
